Create your account at app.kidube.com/signup — you'll add your name, create profiles for your kids (just a nickname, an avatar and an age band; kids never have accounts of their own), and set your parent gate (a PIN or pattern that keeps settings out of little hands).

Then start the 7-day free trial. Checkout only captures your payment method — nothing is charged until day 7, and cancelling before then costs nothing.

Then install the Kidube app — the App Store on iPhone and iPad, Google Play on Android — and sign in with the same account. Your kids, categories and limits are already there: everything you set up on the web is waiting on the phone, and the TV apps are on the way.

The fastest start is the Packs page: import a ready-made, age-banded starter pack — every video already human-reviewed — into your child's profile in one tap.

From there, browse the Library, preview anything yourself, and assign videos into the categories you create (Songs, Stories, Science…). Your child's home screen shows exactly those rails, nothing else.

Use Add link (or our browser extension while you browse) to save a specific YouTube/Facebook video for your kids. These play inside the platform's official player and carry that platform's ads — Kidube's own hosted catalog is always ad-free.

The extension can also scan a playlist page and import the links in bulk, and shows a badge on videos already in your library.

Install Kidube on Apple TV, Android/Google TV or Fire TV — or open the web TV app on Samsung and LG. Pair the TV by scanning the QR code with your phone; the TV then shows your kids' profiles only, behind your parent gate.

On the Library page, open “Describe your kid” and write a sentence — “loves dinosaurs and space, needs calmer videos before bed”. The copilot suggests matching videos from the human-reviewed catalog, shows “more like this” on any preview, and pre-selects the best-fitting category when you assign.

The copilot only ever talks to you. It never chooses for your child, and nothing it suggests reaches a kid until you assign it.

Packs are ready-made bundles you import into a child's profile in a tap — it creates a category and fills it. Hosted videos are human-reviewed and ad-free; outside links (like YouTube) can ride along clearly marked, and after import they behave exactly like links you added yourself, under your own per-kid settings.

You can also share: publish one of your own categories as a community pack (Kidube reviews the whole pack — including any outside links — before other families see it), or copy a public share link that shows the pack to friends who don't have Kidube yet. Packs work on the web portal and in the iPhone/Android apps.

Every video carries an energy rating — Calm, Moderate or Energetic — declared by the creator and verified by our reviewers. Use the Energy filter in the Library to build a calm-only bedtime rail, and Sleep Mode to make evenings calm automatically.

If you enable it, your child can ask for videos from creators you follow (“Ask a grown-up for this”), and Family Circle relatives can suggest videos. Both land in your Approvals inbox with one-tap approve or pass. Nothing enters a child's library without you.

On the Household page, invite a relative by email with a kid-facing name like “Grandma”. Relatives get a simplified, suggest-only view: they browse the catalog and propose videos for a specific child.

Their suggestions come to your Approvals inbox. When you approve one, it lands in your child's feed as “Grandma added this for you” — warm for the kid, and still 100% your call. Relatives can never change settings, see analytics, or bypass your approval.

On the Subscription page, choose Give Kidube as a gift: pick 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, pay once (no subscription is created on your card), and you'll receive a code like KIDU-XXXXX-XXXXX to share.

The receiving family redeems the code on their Subscription page — the months are added to their access immediately, and we never charge them during gifted time. If they already subscribe, their next charge simply moves past the gifted months.

Each child has an independence level you control: Level 0 is fully curated; Level 1 lets them ask for videos (you approve each one); Level 2 lets them add to their own feed from a pool you already approved, with a notification to you instead of a blocking ask. We suggest a level as they age — you always decide.

Kids pick their profile (Netflix-style) and see only the rails you built, a Reels feed of shorts you assigned, and their Audio section for music and stories. There is no search, no browsing, no comments, no links out — and no ads on Kidube-hosted content.

Cubie, our mascot, greets them by time of day, celebrates finished videos, and gently says goodnight when time is up.

If you set a child's independence level to “can ask” (Kids → child → Growing independence), a friendly ⭐ shelf appears on their phone, tablet, web and TV with videos from creators you follow — never open browsing.

Tapping flips the card to “Asked! ⭐” and the request waits in your Approvals inbox. At the top level, kids add from that same trusted pool directly and you get a heads-up instead of a blocking question — you can remove anything.

Pre-reader mode hides card titles behind icons and adds a tap-to-hear button that reads titles aloud on the device. Captions can be on by default per child. The kid surface supports screen readers, reduced motion and a high-contrast mode.

Audio you've divided into chapters can carry choices — “what happens next?” — so your child steers the story at each fork. You author the choices in the chapter editor; kids just tap the big buttons.

Set a daily timer per child. Five minutes before the end, Cubie gives a friendly heads-up; the screen winds down softly, and at zero it locks with a goodbye and an off-screen activity suggestion — no cliff-edge cutoffs.

Need an exception? Grant +5/+10/+15 minutes from your phone; it applies on their screen within a second.

On each child's page, create routines: Bedtime says goodnight during the window (overnight windows like 20:00–07:00 work) with a grown-up override that lasts tonight only, and Quiet hours rest video and Reels while listening stays. Devices follow routines by their own clock — no timezone surprises.

Both are enforced on every kid screen: phones, tablets, the web kid mode and the TVs.

Lock is a pause: the screen freezes where it is, and unlocking with your PIN resumes exactly mid-video.

Turn off ends screen time: the player closes, the device shows a goodnight screen, and after unlocking the child lands back at their home — no mid-video resume. Use Lock for “one moment”, Turn off for “we're done for today”.

Live control shows what each child is watching right now with a real progress bar, which devices are online, and buttons for play, pause, skip, lock, brightness — plus “Pause everything” for dinner time. It works from anywhere, not just your wifi.

Every upload runs an automated pre-screen and then waits for a human reviewer — nothing is published without a person's approval. If a video is rejected you'll see the reason, can fix and resubmit, or appeal with a note to the reviewer.

Before your first upload you'll take a short content-standards course; verified educators can earn a badge parents see.

Group videos into ordered series; parents can assign a whole series in one tap, optionally drip-paced (one new episode per day). You can also schedule a premiere date — your approved video stays hidden until the moment you chose.

The subscription pool is shared by real, fraud-capped watch-time — no ads, no CPM roulette. Payouts route via Mollie; monthly statements (CSV included) itemize every video's share, and your dashboard shows curation stats only Kidube has: how many families' libraries you're in.
