COPPA & GDPR-K
Children's safety is the foundation of Kidube. No kid accounts, verifiable parental consent, the bare minimum of data, zero tracking, and a human review before anything reaches a child.

Our commitment to children's privacy
Kidube is made for children, and their privacy and safety come first. We design to the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the children's-data provisions of the EU/UK GDPR (GDPR-K), and we align with children's-design codes such as the UK Age Appropriate Design Code.
This page summarizes, in plain language, how we protect children. It complements our full Privacy Policy.
Children are not accounts
Children never hold their own Kidube account, login or password. A parent or guardian is the account holder and authenticates the device; each child simply picks a profile, Netflix-style. This removes a whole category of risk — there is no child credential to phish, leak or target.
Verifiable parental consent
A parent or guardian sets up the household, and any collection or use of a child's limited information happens under that parent's account and control. Where the law requires verifiable parental consent before collecting a child's personal information, we obtain it, and we give parents a clear way to review or withdraw it.
What we collect about a child
We practice strict data minimization. For a child profile we use only:
- A first name or nickname.
- An avatar.
- An age band, to keep the experience age-appropriate.
- The minimal watch signals needed to sync devices, enforce screen-time limits, and pay creators fairly by watch-time.
No behavioral advertising or tracking
We never serve ads to children and never load third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the kids' experience. We do not build behavioral or advertising profiles of children, and we do not sell or share children's personal information for advertising.
The moderation gate
No video can reach a child until it has passed an automated pre-screen and a human review. Anything unsafe is rejected and never appears in a parent's Catalog. Every decision is logged for an auditable trail. Combined with the fact that children only ever see parent-assigned content — no open browsing or search — this is the core of how we keep the experience safe.
Parental controls and rights
Parents stay in control at all times. From your account you can:
- Choose exactly which videos and categories each child can see.
- Set screen-time limits and a private parent gate.
- Review the information associated with a child's profile.
- Delete a child's profile and its data, and refuse further collection or use of it.
Data retention and deletion
We keep children's information only as long as needed to provide the service, and we delete or anonymize it when a profile is removed or your household account is closed, except for limited records we are legally required to keep. You can request deletion at any time.
International children's privacy
For families in the EU, UK and other regions, we apply GDPR-K protections and recognized children's-design standards in addition to COPPA, and we use appropriate safeguards for any international transfer of personal data.
